SearchFacets web part shows an Exclamation mark

Aug 22, 2008 at 8:28 PM

The Search Facets web part installed successfully and I added it to the search result page; But it displays just an Exclamation mark.

The errors that I see in the event viewer are:

“A new query machine, 'V51-SHAREPSRV', has been added to the query rotation based on changes to farm topology. Component: 7a15edc5-3598-4c2f-bdc2-6da7b45d15ba”

“Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Caching.Expirations.AbsoluteTime..ctor(TimeSpan timeFromNow)

   at Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.ExtendedSearch.WebControls.SearchProcessor.GetCachedData(String selectColumns, Int16 resultsPerPage, Int32 longCacheTimeout, Int32 fastCacheTimeout, Boolean& usingCachedData, Boolean& run2ndTime)”

“Type : System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException, mscorlib, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089

Message : Absolute time cannot be less than current time.

Parameter name: absoluteTime”

Is anybody had a similar issue?

Most likely you have timeouts in the search facets WP set to 0. By default they should 2 min for fast and 20 min for long cache.

I changed it to 2min and I also tried more than 2min and it didn’t work.

If you upgraded from 2.0 make usre that .webpart definitions are updated in WP gallery. With timeouts set, there is nothing to cause "Absolute time cannot be less than current time" exception.

I decided to install the web part on a different machine and it works fine.

Thank you for your help.  Great webpart!!!
