Access denied when activating Feature

Hi,

I worked through the instructions, manually loaded the dlls to the GAC, deployed the solution. All appeared to have worked correctly. Then upon activitating feature I get the following "Access Denied" error:

Any ideas as to what the problem may be? It is a Spanish language install (not an MUI) of MOSS 2007 with SP1.

What permissions your account has on the Farm, SSP and site collection?

Hi,

The user is the Farm Admin and has administrative rights on the SSP and the Site Collection. I have tried with several different users, all Site Collection Admin, and the result is exactly the same.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Barry

Hi,

I have solved this problem. It is indeed a permissions issue. In order to activate the Feature you need to have “Create Sub-site” permission on the Web Application level.

I do not understand why this is the case because it does not create a subsite, but it works once you have the permission enabled.
