GetColumnsAttribute gives NullReferenceException

Aug 23, 2009 at 11:32 PM

We have installed the Faceted Search on a swedish version of MOSS 2007. Everything works fine until we try a search, then it just shows a warning icon.

After inspecting the event log we can assume that the error exists in the method GetColumnsAttribute which seems to parse the xml of the facetlist. Does anyone have an idea of what might be the problem? Is it something wrong with our installation or is it the language that screws things up?

Here is what it says in the event log:

Type : System.NullReferenceException, mscorlib, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089

Message : Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Please provide your search criteria, facet names and facet values in Swedish. Along with the metadata property names and aliases. I will look up where the XML parser chokes.

We managed to solve the problem on our own. It turned out that we had to set a couple of web part properties which contained links to css-files.

Thanks for the help anyway!
