The web parts sometimes displays an error when installed on the web application that has minimal level of trust. The Full and Medium levels work fine. The issue is caused by insufficient security policy, defined in the manifest.xml.

I have just tried v1.1 and I am very excited with the provided functionality.

For specific implementations which involves graphic design, I would very much like to have control over displaying or hiding images (e.g. info image for a facet) or replacing the "x" button in the breadcrumb with an image.

While creating search property, it won’t allow certain characters say a space. For example it allows “DeliverableType” not “Deliverable Type”. On the UI we want it to display a bit friendly.

I have been experimenting with various filters/Metadata Mappings, like FileExtention. I would realy like to see a merged results function that combines upper and lower case results.

When i use this filter in the current version, ZIP and zip are displayed as seperate filter options, allthough the results for each option are identical (the search query makes no difference in upper and lower case searching)

Whenever I specify a scope using keyword syntax (i.e.: MySearch Criteria Scope:"MyScope"), it causes the Search Facets web part to display nothing. If i remove the scope from my search the facets are displayed.

I am passing data via an advanced search which allows a user to specify multiple items of the same managed property (i.e.: Color:"Red" Color:"Blue"). The Bread Crumbs web part displays this correctly, however clicking the X does not remove the facet.

When searching for an exact phrase using a quote delimited string (e.g. - "Maltese Falcon"), the facet webpart returns an error:

It would be helpful to resolve the differences between number of search results between the MOSS core search results and the faceted search results. These are often different because of the different ways in which the indexes are queried?

If there is an apostrophe in the Author facet surname then the following error is returned:

If facets are used, users can not use the advanced search page (on MSSE2008). The result says like "Advanced search is not supported"

Closed Issue: "View duplicates" result sin a "Your query is malformed. Please rephrase your query" [5280]

If a document exists more than once in SharePoint, the serach result gives the option to [View duplicates]. This shows all the documents that are duplicated as a new search result based on the duplicates keyword.
However, this query leads to the faceted search web part giving the following error: "Your query is malformed. Please rephrase your query."

If facet value returned by search result is in format like this "<some text here>". It gets rendered as html tag on the page.

On closer inspection it appears to be down to how the Utility class methods ExtractQuery and ExtractFormData - this code does not actually throw an exception but I think the logic here might be the source of the issue.

When you go from advanced search page to results page it is fine since the post data contains all the advanced search fields and the code executes as intended. As soon as you page however you get problems. The check for "POST" is going to be true for postbacks as well (like when you click the paging links) and the ExtractFormData will not find any of the advanced search data since they were part of the previous request.

isAdvancedSearch will be false and the query method will get set to keyword query - but there will be no query string variables since we did an advanced search. I have come across this problem before, however for the web part I was writing it was enough just to pass what was required in the query string when the paging buttons were clicked. I don't really have any ideas how to do this for faceted search :( On the the paging post core results must get the query from viewstate or somewhere? You would need to persist the advanced search data or query between the paging postbacks somewhere I guess. Anyway I hope this is of some help.

Hello; after running through the steps in the install guide, all of the parts seem to work correctly, except the faceted search part. When trying to preview that part, I get the following error:

Closed Issue: Error when creating a new faceted search page [7856]

I followed the installation instruction. But I got an error when creating a new faceted search page by using the faceted master page. The error was:

An error occurred during the processing of . http://server/_catalogs/masterpage/FacetedSearchResults.aspx(110): error CS0030: Cannot convert type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls.ListBoundTabStrip' to 'System.Web.UI.IAttributeAccessor'.

This error appeared to be caused by this line:

After I commented this line out, it worked fine.

When I used MOSS Faceted Search, in advance search page and select scope checkbox , then click "search"

Closed Issue: Selected facet value doesn't pass as an encoded string [7906]

Faceted Search V2.0 is installed on the server and we have faceted search configured. Wnenever user clicks on the facet, value gets passed without encoding. And it causes issue in our custom application as one of the faceted value contains "&" and when user clicks on that perticular facet, it passes it as a "&" (it should be passed as a %26---encoded value for &).

Now, I would like to know whether it's an known bug in the V2.0 and got fixed in next version?

Closed Issue: Faceted Search 2.5 issue [7974]

Hi

We have successfully installed the Faceted Search web part onto our SharePoint Environment, installed the Entlib DLL into GAC and activated the Feature Successfully. But when we try to add the web part on the search results page we are getting "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". Please find the attached screenshot.

Could you please help us in this regard ASAP? We need to add this in our Production.
